Before an acquisition closes, before a JV is signed, before a board approves the next field season. We assess what the data actually supports and reports, without the commercial pressure that distorts the answer when the same firm is hoping to win the follow-on work.

Clarity Before Capital

Every project for sale has a story attached. Some of those stories are well supported by the underlying data. Most are partly supported, with assumptions filling the gaps that matter most.

A small number aren't supported at all once the dataset is opened up. The job of evaluation is to separate the three.

We work through the geology, drilling, geochemistry, geophysics, and prior interpretation, and report what the evidence actually shows. Where the case being made is defensible, we say so.

Where it isn't, we say that too, with the reasoning written out so the client can defend the conclusion in a boardroom or a transaction negotiation.

Three Common Decision Points

Acquisition or
earn-in

You have an opportunity on the table and a deadline to commit. You need to know what's real, what's assumed, and where the deal could go wrong, before the LOI becomes binding.

Internal portfolio
review

Your team is running multiple projects and capital has to be allocated. You need an independent read on which assets justify continued spend and which should be parked, farmed out, or dropped.

Financing or
disclosure

A capital raise, a listing event, or a material disclosure is coming up. You need the technical position underwritten by someone who isn't carrying the upside of the outcome.

A Structured Decision Framework

  1. Data Integrity Check

    We open the dataset and assess it on its own terms. Completeness, internal consistency, sampling protocols, QA/QC, assay reliability, chain of custody, and provenance. Any conclusion is only as defensible as the data underneath it, so this is where we start. Where data gaps are material, they are documented before interpretation begins.

  2. Geological Re-Interpretation

    We rebuild the geological model from primary observations rather than inheriting prior interpretation. Drillholes are re-logged where the core is available, sections are redrawn, and the model is tested against current understanding of the deposit type. Where the existing interpretation holds up under independent review, we say so. Where it doesn't, we explain what the data is actually showing.

  3. Deposit Model Fit

    The project is tested against the deposit type it is being marketed as. Alteration assemblages, structural setting, vectoring evidence, metal zonation, and scale precedents from documented analogue systems.

  4. Risk Identification

    Critical uncertainties, missing datasets, and assumption-driven conclusions are identified and prioritised by their impact on the decision the client is trying to make. Technical risks are separated from commercial and jurisdictional risks. The output is a ranked register the client can act on, not an exhaustive list with no weighting.

  5. Opportunity Assessment

    Where the geology holds up, we define the realistic upside at the project's current stage. Scale precedents from documented analogues. Grade and tonnage envelopes consistent with the dataset. The work required to convert potential into a defensible resource position. This is the constructive half of the evaluation, written with the same discipline as the risk half.

  6. Decision Mapping

    The output is translated into one of four clear positions: advance, refine, reassess, or exit. Each comes with the reasoning that supports it, a SWOT analysis covering technical, commercial, and jurisdictional factors, and the defined next steps that follow. No list-of-options conclusions and no padding.

We don't just deliver reports. We deliver a defensible position the client can act on.

Independent technical evaluation report

Standalone document covering methodology, dataset assessment, geological re-interpretation, deposit-model fit, SWOT analysis, and recommendation.

Reconstructed geological model

Sections, plans, and 3D model where the data supports it, prepared in Leapfrog or equivalent. Built from primary data, not inherited.

Ranked risk and gap register

Critical uncertainties and missing datasets, prioritised by impact on the decision being made. Actionable, not exhaustive.

Validated or revised resource and grade context

Where prior resource statements exist, an independent view on whether the dataset supports them and what would need to change for them to stand up to a QP or CP audit.

Decision and rationale

A clear position (advance, refine, reassess, or exit) with the reasoning written out and the next steps defined.

A Decision Is Not a Guess

We map signal strength (does the data support the prospectivity case?) against data confidence (is the dataset reliable enough to draw a conclusion from?). Four outcomes:

Advance

Strong geological indicators supported by reliable data. Recommended for next-stage exploration, transaction commitment, or investment review.

High Signal / Low Confidence

Refine

Real indicators, but the dataset isn't yet defensible. Targeted work to firm up confidence before significant capital is committed.

Low Signal / High Confidence

Exit

The dataset is reliable. It doesn't support the case being made. A disciplined stop protects time and capital, and frees resources for higher-value targets.

Low Signal / Low Confidence

Reassess

Insufficient basis to decide either way. A broader review of the search space is the right next step, not more spend on the current target.
